1. About these terms
Welcome to wisdomnetwork.com.au. This site is a personal community project run by Samantha Dzabic (referred to here as “Samantha”, “we”, “us”, or “our”). By using the site you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the site.
These terms apply to anyone who visits the site, contacts Samantha through it, or uses any of its features (booking a call, downloading resources, browsing the job board).
2. What this site is and is not
The Wisdom Network is a community for mature-age professionals navigating career transitions in Australia. It is run as a hobby and personal project. It is not a registered business. It is not a recruitment agency, employment service, financial advisory, legal advisory, or medical service.
Information on the site is shared in good faith for community and educational purposes. It is general in nature and does not constitute professional advice of any kind.
3. Your responsibilities when using the site
By using the site you agree to:
- Use the site lawfully and respectfully
- Provide accurate information when you contact Samantha or book a call
- Not use the site or any communication channels for spam, harassment, scraping, or malicious activity
- Not impersonate any person or entity
- Not attempt to interfere with the operation of the site, its security, or other users
If you join community meetings or events linked from the site, you agree to engage respectfully and to keep what others share in confidence unless they have given clear permission to share publicly.
4. Intellectual property
The text, images, layout, and design of this site (other than third-party content) are owned by Samantha Dzabic. You may:
- Read and link to pages on the site
- Quote short excerpts with attribution and a link back
- Download resources from the Resources page for your personal use
You may not:
- Republish whole articles or pages without written permission
- Use any content for commercial purposes without written permission
- Strip or alter attribution
The Wisdom Network logo and brand identity are owned by Samantha Dzabic and may not be used without permission.
The TEDx talk linked from the site is hosted by TED Conferences LLC under their licensing terms. AFR article links are subject to the Australian Financial Review’s terms.
5. Job board
The site is being prepared to host a job board where employers can post roles. When the board is publicly active, the following will apply:
- Roles are posted by employers, not by Samantha. The accuracy of role descriptions, salary, and contact details is the responsibility of the employer.
- Visitors apply to roles directly with the employer. Samantha does not act as a recruitment agent and does not guarantee any outcome from any application.
- Samantha reserves the right to remove any posting that breaches these terms or that promotes discrimination, illegal activity, or roles that conflict with the spirit of the community.
6. Third-party links and services
The site links to and uses third-party services such as Calendly, Google Workspace, Google Meet, LinkedIn, and SiteGround. Each has its own terms of service and privacy policy, which apply when you use them. Samantha does not control and is not responsible for those external services or their content.
7. No professional advice
Anything you read on the site, hear in a community meeting, or receive in an introductory call is general information only. It does not constitute career, legal, financial, tax, medical, or any other professional advice.
You should always seek independent professional advice that takes into account your own circumstances before making important decisions. Samantha is not liable for any decision you make based on information from the site.
8. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law:
- The site is provided “as is”, without warranty of any kind
- Samantha does not warrant that the site will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of viruses or other harmful components
- Samantha is not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential loss arising from your use of the site
Nothing in these terms excludes any rights or remedies you may have under Australian Consumer Law that cannot lawfully be excluded.
9. Removing your information
If you contact Samantha and ask for your information to be removed (for example, a meeting booking record, an emailed introduction), reasonable steps will be taken to do so. See the Privacy Policy for more detail.
10. Changes to these terms
These terms may be updated as the site evolves. The “Last updated” date at the top will always reflect the most recent change. Significant changes will be highlighted on the site for at least 14 days before they take effect. Continued use of the site after a change means you accept the updated terms.
11. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of New South Wales, Australia. Any dispute arising from your use of the site will be handled under those laws and in the courts of New South Wales.
